View the night sky through the Lawrence Sauter telescope located inside the Observatory Dome atop the Eisenhower Community Center, Room 333, 1001 Highway 7, Hopkins. Under the guidance of trained, knowledgeable vounteers, discover the moon, planets, stars and constellations. See below for scheduled viewing nights.
- Open to the public, on scheduled evenings, September–May. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 952.988.4074.
- Most programs are two hours long, with start times varying based on the time of sunset.
- Special presentations are available for Scouts or class groups of 10–20, by reservation only.
- Best suited for adults and children in grades 2 or older.
- Dress for the weather, the dome is open to the outdoors.
- In case of inclement weather on your viewing night, call 952.988.4018 two hours prior to your viewing time for cancellation information.
- Please note: It is necessary to climb a tall metal staircase to gain access to the Observatory dome.
The Eisenhower Observatory relies on your generous donations to support the upkeep and upgrading of equipment. A $2 donation for adults, $1 for students and $35 for group reservations of 10 or more is requested.

November 5, 9, 19, 24 , 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
December 3, 10,14, 29, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
