Special Services

Our Special Services department includes a wide array of programs and services designed to meet the needs of our learners with disabilities. Special education and support services are available to all learners ages birth to 21 who have not graduated and who have been identified as needing these specialized instructional services.

These include special education, a variety of programs for students with specific disabilities, services for preschoolers with disabilities, Title I remedial services, transitional services for students with special needs from age 18 to 21, services to students attending nonpublic schools, and more.

The Special Services department includes multiple individuals, all of whom are experts in their fields:

  • Speech and Language Pathologists
  • Social Workers
  • Psychologists
  • Developmental Adaptive Physical Education (DAPE) Teachers
  • Work Experience/Handicapped Coordinators
  • Occupational Therapists
  • Physical Therapist

In addition, Special Services offers support services in coordination with:

  • Counselors and Nurses (K-12)
  • Early Childhood Special Education
  • Transition Plus (ages 18-21)
  • Homebound Instruction
  • Special Transportation
